01 The candidate journey

Twelve stages. No shortcuts.

Presented as a conceptual government framework. Eligibility, screening standards and approvals are set by the receiving government; no stage can be bypassed.

  1. 01

    Application

Submitted only through an officially announced, government-authorised channel. Candidates receive clear information about the role, rights, obligations and conditions — and are never charged a fee.

    Authorised channel
  2. 02

    Identity & eligibility verification

Identity documents are verified and eligibility is assessed against criteria defined by the receiving government, such as age, nationality rules and legal capacity to serve.

    Receiving government criteria
  3. 03

    Education & skills verification

Qualifications are confirmed with issuing institutions, and technical or professional skills are assessed for the roles in question.

    Verified with issuers
  4. 04

    Medical & fitness assessment

Conducted by authorised medical professionals against published standards, with medical confidentiality protected throughout.

    Authorised clinicians
  5. 05

    Background / security screening

Carried out by authorised national agencies in accordance with law. Personal data is handled on a strict need-to-know basis.

    Authorised agencies
  6. 06

    Government approval

The competent authority of the receiving government decides. Where citizens of a partner country are involved, that government's safeguards and consular protections apply.

    Sovereign decision
  7. 07

    Authorised training

Delivered by appropriately authorised military institutions and training providers, to the receiving nation's standards.

    Authorised institutions
  8. 08

    Certification

Successful completion is recorded as recognised certification — a permanent, verifiable record that belongs to the individual as well as the institution.

    Verifiable record
  9. 09

    Lawful military appointment / enlistment

Appointment or enlistment under the receiving nation's law, with written terms that the individual has understood and freely accepted.

    Informed consent
  10. 10

    Active service or reserve

Service in an active role or within a reserve structure, as defined by the programme and national law.

    Per programme structure
  11. 11

    Continuous professional development

Ongoing training, qualifications and progression — so that service builds a career rather than simply filling a post.

    Career growth
  12. 12

    Career transition / retirement

Planned transition into civilian employment, further education, continued reserve service or retirement, with support to translate military skills into recognised civilian credentials.

    Beyond service

02 Fair recruitment

What a candidate should never encounter.

International fair-recruitment and anti-trafficking standards are explicit about practices that have no place in lawful recruitment. Any programme associated with ArmyExporter would be designed to exclude them entirely.

ImportantArmyExporter does not currently recruit, and does not appoint agents or intermediaries. Anyone claiming to recruit on ArmyExporter's behalf, or asking for payment, should not be trusted.

  • Recruitment fees or deposits

Candidates should never pay to apply, to be selected or to travel.

  • Confiscated documents

No one should hold a candidate's passport or identity papers.

  • Unclear or changed terms

Terms must be written, understood and not altered after acceptance.

  • Pressure or coercion

Participation must be voluntary at every stage.

  • Unofficial intermediaries

Only officially announced government channels would be legitimate.
